SpringSpiration

The temperatures are rising, the days are getting longer and it's really starting to feel like SPRING. So maybe we didn't exactly have an EXTREMELY inclement winter (only for one weekend really), and we probably have no real excuse to complain but doesn't spring sound so nice? We can't be the only ones feeling like we need warm weekend getaways, driving with the windows down and the warm sun beating on our backs. We created a quick post today here to keep you inspired and ready for the warmth to hit. Our weekends were busy but we made time to do the things that we love (and get our creative juices flowing). Here's some of what our weekends looked like...

Sunny-Day Inspiring Playlist

 GreenHouse Inspiration

Sometimes it's necessary and good for the soul to submerge yourself into some greenery. If you can't get to a lush green field (we still aren't quite into spring with our vegetation yet) or into the woods for a hike, your local farmers market or greenhouse will suffice! Our photographer for Greene Street and a very inspiring young lady, Rachel, shares some images of her greenhouse explorations this weekend

Inspiring Spring Outfit Display

Perfect Weekend Getaway Get-up. We found these pieces at our Manayunk location (on a total whim). We're drawn to the flowy-fit and billowy sleeves of this Free People tunic (not to mention the bohemian print) and this stone and metal cuff? Forget it. Too cute.

Fresh & Green Eats

Grabbing lunch is great, grabbing a fresh lunch with honest ingredients is even better and makes us feel better about warmer days (and less clothing) on the horizon. This weekend we stopped at a place in Chestnut Hill (GreenSoul) after perusing the racks at the town's Greene Street.

Two NYFW Trends to Try NOW

Plaguing the internet with colorful prints, peek-a-boo striped pieces, grandma heels and furs in a variety of hues is New York Fashion Week's Street Style. Images of off-duty models, fashion bloggers, buyers, editors and celebs walking to and from shows flaunting the latest-to-break fashion trends completely saturates the internet for weeks to come post-NYFW. Whether you have or have not taken notice of these functionally-cool, layered and luxurious fashionistas strutting the busy streets of New York City, you may already have the trends they're donning sitting in your closet or you can easily shop them at a low cost. As you know, NYFW was pretty cold this year and that chill in the air forced many into layering to stay warm. Now that we're moving into spring and temperatures here are (finally) reflecting just that, we say that these two trends are here to stay and can be made fit for warmer temperatures of spring.

Dress Over Pants

This skirt-over-pants and dress-over-pants trend was here and there throughout 2015 but we are still seeing it, which means it isn't going anywhere. This means you should give it a shot if you haven't yet. We know this seems a little silly at first, but after checking out the adorable and effortlessly cool outfits pictured below we think you will change your mind (we did). Not only is this trend making its come back but its cuter than ever. It may seem a bit intimidatingly-fashion forward but there are ways to dress this down and make it super casual (how far off is a long tunic from a short dress anyways?). Another great thing about this trend is that it doesn't age discriminate- literally anyone can wear this and it will look great.

Dress this up with trouser pants and a knee-length dress or down with a sweater dress and distressed denim. We love it either way! You can shop this look at any Greene Street location.

Shirt Under Dress

Here's another trend that anyone (with a dress and shirt...okay any female...sorry guys!) can try out. Wearing a buttoned blouse or a turtleneck (or even a ribbed and fitted scoop neck) underneath a sleeveless dress of any length can really be an adorable way to layer on purpose! (and not because you're forced to thanks to mother nature)

And there you have it- two great trends you can shop (or pick out of your own closet) now. What's so great is that both of these trends are versatile for spring and its in-between-seasons unpredictable weather. Both trends can be casual or dressy. Try them now, we dare you!
