Fall Color Report

The other day a shopper asked what the “it” colors are this fall and as any slave to fashion knows, with every new season comes new colors. Fortunately for us, the prominent designers decide what those colors will be and shortly following fashion week, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle etc., are doing 4-8 page spreads giving us the scoop.

According to Pantone Color Institute- the go-to for all things color- this fall we're seeing burgundy, copper, mustard yellow, dusty gray, teal, scarlet red, and purple (all colors you can find at any Greene Street location)

Of course there are some colors people can and cannot pull off depending on individual hair and skin tone, so thankfully there are plenty of options to work with. For example, try pairing purple and teal together,  mustard yellow with gray, or taupe with scarlet red.

For those interested in seeing the specific shades I've mentioned, check out the Pantone Color Institute website and then browse our selection to find your colors!

Your Fall Wardrobe Starts Here

There was a chill in the air this morning!  As the cool weather starts to creep in, we are left with the “What do I wear?” dilemma.  For many of us, it was reminiscent of a full blown Fall morning when we started our daily commute.  This is the time of year when we look at our closets and must get creative - what pieces will transition well for me?

It’s the season for dresses!  While it’s not quite time to pack it in and pull out your pants collection, it’s time to make the most out of your dresses.  A dress can easily be layered to suit your needs.  Pop on a sweater or jacket. or add tights or socks, and boots.  Here are 4 types of dresses, easily found at any Greene Street, that will make your days much easier.

  1. The knit dress.  This dress is amazing because it will keep you warm, but with its bodycon shape and amazing color and print you won’t need to do much else to it.  Just pull it on and out you go!

  2. The knee-length dress.  Drop your hemline but keep your cool.  The Fall color palette in this dress will signal that you are embracing the change of season.  But the colorblocking and the pleats elongate your body.  Feel free to sport flats or dress it up with heels.  Add a sweater to take the chill off.

  3. The top trend right now is front-button denim.  Rock prairie chic in this denim dress!  It’s so easy to layer - pair sneakers or a leather jacket with this.  Feel free to belt it or add a scarf.  It’s vintage inspired but totally modern in functionality.

  4. The black and white dress.  This dress looks easy-breezy but it’s actually a heavier ponti knit.  The design is super chic and will keep you looking fab until you figure out which Fall colors to commit to.  Layer up your jewelry and add tights and booties for your work look.

While the dresses will vary, all of our Greene Street locations currently have the Marlyn Schiff jewelry featured!
